BROCKVILLE – On behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, Gord Brown, Member of Parliament (Leeds–Grenville), today announced funding for the Brockville Concert Association.
This funding will support the Brockville Concert Association’s eight-day jazz festival and classical concert series. The festival will feature nine performances in various venues throughout Brockville. The classical concert series consists of four concerts that will take place at the Brockville Arts Centre and in smaller community heritage venues. Audiences can participate in educational programs, such as workshops and tutorials, and will have the opportunity to attend pre-concert events and meet the artists.
“Our Government is proud to support the Brockville Concert Association, a vital contributor to the Brockville community.” said Minister Moore. “The jazz festival and concerts series promote Canadian talent and offer a variety of musical experiences for people of all ages.”
“Through investments like this one, residents of Brockville have the opportunity to appreciate musical excellence and engage in a variety of activities with professional Canadian performers,” said Mr. Brown.
The Government of Canada has provided funding of $20,000 for fiscal years 2011–2012 and 2012–2013 through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund of the Department of Canadian Heritage. This program gives Canadians increased access to the variety and richness of Canada’s culture through professional arts festivals, presentations of live professional performances, and other artistic experiences.
